Have you ever felt the need to hold back your thoughts when talking to people about money? Do you ever find yourself censoring your optimism when discussing your dreams?

Recently, during a dinner outing with my husband, daughter, and one of my husband's friends, the topic of my business came up. I shared that things were going great and mentioned my new launch - The Wealth Vibe membership.
When I briefly explained the concept of "wealth embodiment," my husband's friend seemed a bit perplexed. However, the conversation quickly shifted to other subjects. As the evening progressed, he revealed his dream of quitting his full-time job to pursue a career in music. Yet, he immediately dismissed it as an unrealistic and financially unviable aspiration.
My instinct was to switch into coaching mode and say, "It could absolutely be lucrative! There are a million ways you could make money doing music! But you’ve got to shift that mindset first, because the version of you who’s successful wouldn’t be thinking that music isn’t a viable option for them." However, I refrained.
From a Human Design perspective, I'm a Projector, and I hadn't been invited to share my opinion.
Moreover, having spent nearly two decades in the field of manifestation and embodiment, I've learned that most people aren't receptive to an optimistic and "unrealistic" perspective.
Thankfully, my husband, who has undergone his own transformation in money mindset and wealth embodiment, chimed in, saying, "You could probably find some success with music if you really wanted to." But his friend remained skeptical, suggesting that success would require an overwhelming presence on social media, and even then, the odds seemed slim.
This interaction stuck with me for two reasons. It reminded me of how society conditions us to think small, play it safe, and settle, particularly when it comes to money. We're taught to doubt our potential, close ourselves off to possibilities, and avoid even daydreaming about the life of our dreams because it's considered "unrealistic."
Moreover, it underscored the loneliness of seeing money (and life) differently from the majority. That's why it's crucial to surround yourself with individuals who support your big dreams and optimism. The more people you have urging you to be "realistic" or "pragmatic," the harder it becomes to believe in the boundless potential within you.
